CLERK OF COURT & COMPTROLLER

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FLORIDA

Due Dates Extended for Fines

Pat Frank extends due dates for fines

In an effort to reduce the public’s exposure to COVID-19, the financial due dates set for March 18 through December 31, 2020 for all Criminal and Traffic cases have been extended an additional 60 days, Hillsborough Clerk of Court & Comptroller Pat Frank has announced.

“We hope this will ease the concerns many people have in our community as a result of the Coronavirus crisis,” Frank said. “It is also the latest attempt we have made to discourage the public from going to any of our offices. The safety of the public and my employees is my paramount concern.”

While many fines and fees can be paid online at hillsclerk.com, that is not an option for a large segment of our community who do not have bank accounts or credit cards. They are forced to pay in cash in person at one of our offices, risking exposure of themselves and our employees.

This decision comes just two days after Frank canceled wedding ceremonies and the processing of passports in an effort to reduce the number of people going to our offices. “It is important that everyone do their part to limit their exposure to others until this crisis has passed,” Frank said. “I thank everyone for their diligence and patience during this difficult period.”
