Working at the Clerk’s Office is more than a job.

It’s public service.
Whether you are a courtroom clerk, a customer service center representative or an IT software engineer, you spend your days finding new ways to better serve the public.

We offer exceptional benefits, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, retirement and deferred compensation plans, and paid vacation and sick leave. For many employees, the Clerk’s Office is a second family.

That’s why more than half our team has been with us for a decade or more. Many of our managers and directors started in entry-level positions. We always look for the right person for the right job, and often that means hiring from within.

Our career opportunities cover a wide array of interesting and vital functions in serving the citizens of Hillsborough County, processing and maintaining court records for a variety of courts to include civil, felony, misdemeanor, traffic, probate, and jury services. We also offer positions in the fields of financial accounting and auditing, recording and indexing of public records, and information technology, as well as in providing clerical support for County meetings and records.

Job opportunities and information on the qualification and the application process are available on the Clerk of the Circuit Court’s Employment Opportunities page.

VETERANS' PREFERENCE: Preference will ONLY be entitled upon initial appointment for eligible veterans and eligible spouses of veterans. Documentation to support entitlement to preference MUST be provided at the time of application.

RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES: Employees may be required to participate in response/recovery activities in response to a major emergency or natural disasters affecting Clerk operations. In such situations, every effort will be made to maintain operations, but employees may be assigned to carry out response activities suited to their skills and capabilities.

The Clerk of the Circuit Court provides equal employment opportunity to all persons, regardless of age, race, religion, color, national origin, sex, political affiliations, marital status, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, membership or non-membership in an employee organization, or on the basis of personal favoritism or other non-merit factors.

The Clerk of the Circuit Court welcomes and encourages applications from minorities, veterans, and persons with physical and mental disabilities, and will reasonably accommodate the needs of those persons in the application and testing process. The decision on granting reasonable accommodation requests will be on a case-by-case basis.
