Veterans Outreach Court 2017

TAMPA, FL---Local government agencies and veterans groups will join together for Veterans Outreach Court to help homeless and low-income military veterans resolve legal problems.
The free event will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at the James A Haley Veteran’s Hospital Primary Care Annex, 13515 Lake Terrace Lane in Tampa. Last year, nearly 100 veterans were assisted during this special event.
Participating agencies include the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, the Hillsborough County Clerk of Court and Comptroller, the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, the Hillsborough Public Defender’s Office, Hillsborough County Veterans Services, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and various local Veterans organizations.
“As a veteran of the U.S. Army, I know and appreciate the sacrifice and service our veterans have offered our country,” said County Judge Daryl Manning, who is spearheading the event. “Veterans Outreach Court is a way we can help these men and women veterans quickly resolve some of their legal issues and help them get back on their feet.”
Registration Is now closed. Participation will be determined by income. Driving and court records will be reviewed in advance. Qualified participants need to view their case online to find out your hearing time. Anyone who is determined to be ineligible will be contacted by phone.
Cases excluded from this event include domestic violence, child support, felonies with active warrants and those pending in Veterans Outreach Court. A consultation with an attorney in those cases is recommended.
