Beware of Jury Scams
Beware of scammers attempting to steal your money! They're reaching out to people by phone, impersonating law enforcement and threatening to charge them for a missed jury date if they don't pay immediately. Even our own team members have been targeted by these deceptive calls. WFLA's Shannon Behnken recently spoke with Clerk of Court & Comptroller Cindy Stuart to provide important information on how to protect yourself from these scammers. Here's what you need to know to stay safe.
The Hillsborough Clerk of Court's office or local law enforcement will NEVER harass you by phone/email or threaten you with arrest for payments related to jury duty. If you receive a suspicious communication, please contact your local law enforcement agency.
