Website Security Changes
Beginning February 1, 2019, Hillsborough County Clerk websites will no longer support TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1. Only TLS version 1.2 will be supported. If you are using unsupported web browsers, old versions of the browsers or have not enabled your browser to use TLS 1.2 to connect to our records search websites after this date, you will begin receiving error messages.
Why are we disabling TLS 1.0 and 1.1?
We are disabling them to ensure that our websites are providing our customers and partners with safe and secure protocols for these connections. This change is enforced throughout the industry to maintain secure connections that encrypt and protect data from malicious data breaches.
Most of the latest versions of standard browsers will support TLS 1.2 by default. If you are unsure about whether your browser will support it, you can verify this by using the following website: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.html

When you click on the “Get In Line Now” button, our ClerkExpress service will open. You need to select a service, (e.g. Civil Court, Marriage License, etc.), and the Clerk’s office you want to visit. When viewing the office options, you can see the number of customers waiting and the average wait time at that location. After entering your contact information and email address, click “Submit”. Your Confirmation notice will be displayed on your screen; we will also send you a confirmation email with your Reservation Number. You will need to enter your Reservation Number into the service kiosk at our office. Therefore, it is important that you bring that number with you. You can carefully jot down the number, print the Confirmation screen, or print the Confirmation email.
Note: Your ClerkExpress Get In Line Now Reservation Number is only valid for that day. If you cannot make it to our office before 5:00PM, you will need to submit another request after 8:00AM the following day.
The Reservation Number is required when you arrive to check-in. Once you arrive at the location, go to the service kiosk and select the Check-in option. When prompted, enter your reservation number or scan the barcode that was provided in your confirmation. After you enter and verify your number, a ticket will print. Please take the ticket and have a seat while waiting for your ticket number to be called.
We are committed to providing a high level of service to our citizens. When a sensitive and urgent service is requested, a reservation would not be required.
At this time, Passports (in our Tampa, Ruskin, Brandon, and Plant City locations) and Home Solicitation Permits (in our Tampa location) are the only services for which appointments can be made. The appointment options will be expanded in the future.
Many times, additional documents are required to complete a requested service. Be sure to check our website to find out what you need before making a trip. You will find some useful information on the Before You Visit page, as well as on the individual service page(s).
